Magnolia Mood

I just loved this sample card that I saw in the Online Store at Stampin' Up!  I just had to make one.

These Magnolia dies are so pretty and detailed and I love Magnolias anyway, so I purchased it right away.

There is a magnolia tree outside of my office window that we planted several years ago.  We didn't realize that it is such a slow growing tree! It is still so small.  Last year it only had 3 little buds.  We'll have to see if we get anymore this year.  I hope so!

While my tree is not blue, I don't think any magnolias are, I just loved this card! It uses Lost Lagoon for the background and touches of Old Olive on the leaves.  The die is cut out with watercolor paper and then ink is applied with a brush to get a soft coloring.

I made a step by step how to for this card on my YouTube channel.

The Magnolia Mood bundle is part of the Online Exclusives, so you wont find it in a catalog.  There are so many items in the Online Exclusives! I worry that people may miss them!  Here are some of the resent additions.  Check them all out here.

So Simple Fractured Card

Have you tried the Fractured Card Yet?  I have to admit, I saw it a few times online but I thought that it would be lots of little pieces of paper and I just wasn't into it.  However, a friend brought it to a team event and we made them and it was so simple and yet very pretty and interesting to look at.  I decided to make them at my Card Buffet and people were amazed at how easy they were.

Take a look at my How To video for step by step instructions and measurements.

My card uses the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper and the Nature's Prints Stamp Set. I think the card works best with small print patterned paper.  The Squares are cut out with the Stylish Shapes Dies, I love that stitching detail.  If you don't have those dies, you can use a basic cut out square made with a punch or paper trimmer.

Sweetest Cherries Scrapbook page

Hi everyone! I recently saw a cute scrapbook page on a Facebook Group called Scrapbooking Global -Stampin' Up! .   The original page was
made by Tricia Bellingar at 'Smitten Stamper'.  I have so many pictures in Door County Wisconsin that would be perfect for this page.  Door County is Cherry Country and we have gone cherry picking, made our own cherry pie, love door country cherry ice cream and more.  The pictures I am thinking to add here are of my kids eating Swedish Pancakes covered in cherries and whipped cream at Al Johnson's Swedish restaurant in Sister Bay Wisconsin, a must have every summer.

My pages uses some Designer Series Paper from the Sunny Days pack, as well as Poppy Parade and Pool Party cardstock.  The Sunny Days Paper is no longer available but you could replace that piece with another designer paper, perhaps gingham or other patters. You could even stamp your own cherries with the Sweetest Cherries stamps, or use that basket weave stamp from the set.

I punched my cherries out with Poppy Parade cardstock and added some sponging to the edges to darken them. I also added a shine with a white Gel Pen.

Behind the cherries is a circle cut with the Stylish Shapes dies. The circle has some die cut stitching around it and I wanted my banner to have that stitching also, so I had to alter a die from the Nested Essentials dies. Below is a short video on how to do that.

Teeny Tiney Basket for Spring

I have made this basket template many times, but always larger.  Recently my friend Lois gave me a tiny one and I thought it was just so cute this size.  And, it uses less candy to fill it up!

I used paper from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper Pack, with the Double Oval Punch and Petal Park Builder Punch to complete my basket.  There are so many ways that you can decorate these fun baskets.

Imagine these cuties at each place on the table at Easter.  Or put them on the desks of co-workers, in the mail slots of teachers, or anywhere! They will surely bring a smile.

In the past I have started with a 6x6 piece of designer paper or cardstock, but this one starts 4 1/2 by 4 1/2.   Simply score 1 1/2 inches on all four sides, leaving you with a grid of nine 1 1/2 inch squares.  Cut the flaps on two sides across from each other.  The Handle is 6 by 1/2.  You can attach the handle with glue or brads. Brads are a great choice because then your handles can move. You can even stack them for easier transport or storage if you move the handles to one side with the brads and then straighten them up when you are ready to use them.

You can see the dies here and image using them with your other sets to create scenes or scrapbook pages.

Here are some samples from the catalog.
